The Brew Vol. 3: The Power of Presence
"There's really no end. There's really no beginning. There's really no real. There's really no pretending." Jhene Aiko's voice floats the reminder to me for the millionth time this week. I keep thinking about the end goal, the beautiful final destination where I can say "this is it. I've made it."
But I know me. I know that no matter what I achieve now, there's always more to be accomplished in the future. So I force myself back to the present.
"There's really no fail. There's really no winning."
Every time I take a moment to just be here and now (in the present), I have to wonder about my predilection for the future. I mean, presence is nice. Presence is peace. Presence is the place and space I actually move from.
So instead of trying to force a profound message in this newsletter, it feels better to me to just remember the beauty of presence. I encourage you to take a moment and find your own breath, your own beauty, your own pause, your own presence.

This song randomly pops up in my brain pretty often when I need a reminder. A reminder that everything is everything, to not take things (especially myself) so seriously, a reminder to fall into the flow, or (as of this week) to remind me of the beauty and power of presence.
